FASHION: If you’re reading A Visit from the Goon Squad, you’re a straight-up punk-rocker chick, and you’ve got the almost-combat-boots to prove it. Yank them on over your distressed, slightly mainstream, mint green skinnies. This color is all the rage this season, but don’t let on that you know that. Feigning disinterest is way cool.
You and your originality are NOT FOR SALE, as the t-shirt so eloquently puts it. You also appreciate the irony of the message on a shirt that you purchased, and you feel a smug superiority toward anyone who says, “Nice shirt!”
It’s the 1980s, so back-comb that hair like 1990 will never rear its flat-ironed head. Paint your nails a bright, girly pink instead of black, because you’re UNpredictable (plus the cover is so colorful!).
Show everyone that you are a rebel even if you have to flash your “Freak Out and Break Stuff” handset cover to prove it. Your mass of bangles will make beautiful, clanging music while you’re texting “whr r u” to your friends at the outdoor music fest.
