Last week was super busy! At work, I had a PR conference and then I had to help my boss with her publishing course. At the PR conference I was convinced that I should change the way I view twitter because it can be a great networking tool. I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to things like that. However, I have sucked it up and joined the twitterverse (you can link to my twitter on the right hand side of the page).
The course was held in the Fairmont Hotel in Copley Square (downtown Boston); the hotel was absolutely stunning. I’ve added a couple of pictures here (they are a little blurry because I took them with my iPhone).
There were a bunch of literary agents and authors present–I had to reign in my desire to buy every book at the book signings. I did buy one: In Her Wake by Nancy Rappaport. It’s a memoir about her mother’s suicide. Dr. Rappaport is an amazingly smiley and out-going individual–so much so, that it seems odd she would have written something so heavy. I’ve begun reading it, but I’m trying to save it for my trip tomorrow.
So after all the busy days and long hours of last week, I am on vacay for two whole weeks! I’m off to Arkansas tomorrow morning and I can’t wait to see my family and friends. I’ll post about In Her Wake as soon as I finish…
